Developing Wellbeing Strategies
Having a clear wellbeing strategy is a really important aspect of building a sustainable staff support system. Integrating this strategy into wider school improvement goals ensures that support is meaningful and not forgotten with all of the other conflicting priorities that school face.

A good staff wellbeing strategy has school improvement at its heart. The ultimate aim, whilst to ensure that the staff are well supported, is to make the school a more effective and sustainable environment.

A statement of intent is a good idea when developing a strategy, as it means that everyone is clear as to the purpose of the work being undertaken. An example of one can be found here.

Sustainability is key. Spending time developing a focused wellbeing team, who are clear of their aims will support this.

It doesn't need to cost a lot of money. Having a good wellbeing strategy is absolutely not about grand gestures, like arranging away days or expensive activities on a one-off basis.

Producing a wellbeing action plan with governor involvement is a good idea.

It's obvious, but nonetheless worth saying that developing a staff wellbeing strategy should never be at the expense of the children's opportunities.
